Dalton State Continues Western Swing Tonight In Mobile

DALTON, Ga. - Dalton State continues their road trip to the western most members of the Southern States Athletic Conference, when they visit the University of Mobile (Ala.) tonight at H. Austill Pharr Gymnasium in Mobile, AL.

Dalton State
The Roadrunners improved to 9-1 overall, 1-1 in the SSAC with an impressive 100-68 win over #22 Loyola-New Orleans on December 29.  Isaiah Box and Carnilious Simmons led the way, scoring 17 points each.  In all, the Roadrunners placed five players in double-figures and played hard defense to hold Loyola eight points below their season average and forcing 18 turnovers.  The team continues to gel and looks like an early contender for the SSAC title.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENET
Mobile (Ala.)

The Rams come into the contest tonight at 6-5 overall and 2-1 in the SSAC.  Mobile won their last contest on December 29 against Middle Georgia State 85-77 in overtime, but lost their previous three games heading into the contest.  The Rams are tough defensively ranking 11th in the nation in scoring defense allowing 66.54 points per game, while also getting 14.9 offensive rebounds per game, which is good for 5th in the country.  Raykwon Fenton joined the lineup last time out against Middle Georgia.  The combo guard playing in his first game of the season didn't disappoint, pouring in 23 points and collecting 9 boards.  Guards Brandon Barnes and D.J. Hill are the backbone of the team with both averaging double figures in points.

The all-time series is tied 1-1 with Mobile winning the last contest on January, 4 2016, 68-60.
