Another Great Team Win for Basketball
 
The NAIA 14th Ranked Dalton State basketball Roadrunners completed the season sweep of Life University Tuesday night at the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center's Mashburn Arena. A crowd 1,012 saw the hosts defeat the Running Eagles, 71-63.

The Roadrunners scored the first six points of the game. Preston Earle's three-point shot with 3:20 left in the half gave Dalton State a 14 point lead (35-21). Dalton held a 13 point half-time advantage, 37-24. Earle came out on fire. He had 17 of his game high 27 points at the intermission. He also finished the night with seven rebounds, two saves and two blocked shots.

Jordan Bowling completed a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. Sean Tate had ten points and four assists. Ladaris Green, the NAIA's leading rebounder, came into the game averaging 12.07 boards per game. He had an even dozen Tuesday evening – all but one on defense. Anthony Hilliard had six points and four assists. Rounding out the scoring were Jamaine Burrey with a three, and Dylan Smith and Raheem Moseley each added a basket.

Life's Joe Wilbert scored 16 and Dontierri Clinkscales had 15. Allen Dantzler had eight points and 13 rebounds while Juwan Burden contributed nine points.

Dalton State out rebounded Life by one (50-49). The Roadrunners were held to 63 percent (17-27) from the free-throw line. The Running Eagles were 13 of 21 (61.9 percent). Life was held to 29.9 percent (23 of 77) from the floor while Dalton had 38.3 percent (23 of 60).

Roadrunner Coach Tony Ingle liked what he sawl Tuesday night. "To out rebound this team, even if it's just by one, and to hold them to less than 30 percent from the floor. It is amazing," said Ingle. "Preston Earle came out on fire. It gave us a chance to play subs early on."

Dalton State improved to 13-2 overall. It was not an SSAC match-up. Life fell to 9-5 overall and remains 3-1 in the Mid-
South Conference.

The Roadrunners will entertain  Auburn Montgomery (6-8 overall, 1-4 SSAC) on Friday night. The SSAC conference match-up at the Mashburn Arena/Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. Friday night's game with the Warhawks will be broadcast live on Mixx 104.5.

After Friday night, the next home game will be on Thursday, January 29th when Dalton State hosts conference opponent Blue Mountain (Miss).

The Roadrunners will have two conference road games in between. They will be at Middle Georgia State in Cochburn on Saturday, January 17th, at 5:00 p.m. and at Martin Methodist in Pulaski, Tn. on Thursday, January 22nd at 8:30 p.m. EST (7:30 p.m. CST).
