Lady Roadrunners Fall At Tusculum College
Greeneville, TN. - The Tusculum College women (20-2) handled the Lady Roadrunners Sunday afternoon, 7-2.
The only Dalton State women's victories were at number two doubles and number two singles.
"We played a solid (NCAA) D-2 school for the second match in a row and the girls fought hard for every point," said Dalton State coach Michel Bates. "Laura (Winter) continues to play great tennis and emerge as a leader within program. She played possibly her best match of the year and I couldn't be more proud of her."
"The team continues to grow and improve," added Bates. "I have to remind myself that we are still a first year program. I see great things for the future of Dalton State tennis and athletics."
The Lady Roadrunners number two doubles team of Diana Narino and Daniela Sanchez edged out the Pioneers' Erin Mills and Adrienne Kaye, 8
-6. Before Sunday, Mills and Kaye had teamed-up for 16 wins in 18 outings.
At number one doubles, Kealee Hefner and Kate Hutchinson (TC) def. Chelsea Powell and Lindsay McCutchen (DS), 8-0. At number three, Emily. Waters and Amanda Sumner (TC) def. Laura Winter and Maria Alejandra Bejarano (DS), 8-2.

The Dalton State women (9-7) will host Snead State at Lakeshore Park Tennis Center, 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19. Tusculum is in the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Conference. They play this Wednesday in the SAC Tourney in Rock Hill, SC.
