Box Score Dalton State Over Faulkner, 88-74Â
Montgomery, AL – The Dalton State Roadrunners moved to 5-0 Friday night by defeating Faulkner University 88-74. Faulkner drops to 4-1 with their first loss of the season.
The game was the first ever Dalton State game as a member of the Southern States Athletic Conference.
"The score really does not indicated how close and hard fought the game was," said Roadrunner coach Tony Ingle. "It was a great team effort with everyone that played making positive contributions."
The Roadrunners came from behind in the first half to lead the Eagles 23-22. They then went up by 12 at 43-31. Faulkner scored the final points of the half to move to within seven at  43-36.

Dalton State outscored the Eagles 45-38 in the second half for the 14-point victory.

Dalton State out rebounded Faulkner 40-24. The Roadrunners hit 20 of 27 free throws (74.14%) while the Eagle connected on 11 of 16 from the charity stripe (68.8%).

Seven Roadrunners scored.
Preston Earle scored 17 points and eight rebounds.
Ladaris Green had 18 points and 14 rebounds.
Sean Tate scored a dozen;
Jamaine Burrey, 11 and
Anthony Hilliard, 10.Â
Jordan Bowling had eight points and seven rebounds.

It was great to see how Ladaris was rebounding and Sean was running the team," Ingle added. Anthony's defense, Jordan's thoughness inside and Preston was sensational with some big three point shots. We had a very exhausted team after the game and I'm proud of their effort. Our team knew what was on the line with it being our first conference game."
The Roadrunners (5-0, 1-0 SSAC) are at home Tuesday to host Tennessee Temple at Mashburn Arena. Tip-off will be at 7:30 p.m.
