When Dalton State met Martin Methodist in Pulaski, TN earlier this season the match came down to a tie breaker before the Lady Roadrunners could win, 3-2.

It was looking like that could happen Friday night after MM dominated the hosts in the third set of the Friday night match at B. J. Bandy Gymnasium on the Dalton State campus. The Lady Roadrunners had other plans, knocking off the visitors three sets to one.

The Lady Roadrunner's Alyne Bianchi was recognized before the game as the first graduating senior ever in the second year volleyball program. She then showed her senior leadership by scoring a match high 17.2 points on 16 kills and picking up 16 digs.

Kianna Delaney scored 14.2 points with 13 kills.  Anna Metzler added nine kills. Karly Newman had 18 digs and Ashley Nations 10. Anna Metzler had 40 scoring assists.

The Lady Redhawks scored the first four points of the match, but DS came back to tie the game at seven. Dalton never trailed again but they did have difficulties pulling away. The Lady Roadrunners scored the final two points of the 26-24 match.

Dalton State jumped out to a 7-2 led in the second set, but Martin Methodist came back to take several one and two point leads. With the game tied at 15, DS would score ten of the set's final 14 points for the 25-19 victory.

The third set was all Lady Redhawks as they pulled out to a 17-5 lead and never looked back, holding on to win 25-15.
Martin Methodist (8-12, 6-8) had a 14-10 advantage in the fourth set before Dalton State rallied to tie the game at 15.  The Lady Roadrunners outscored the visitors 10-3 down the stretch to earn the game, 25-18, and win the match.












































The final home game of the season will be played this afternoon on Coach O Court at Bandy Gym. The Lady Roadrunners (13-10, 8-7) will entertain Bethel University (17-11, 9-6) at 1:00 p.m.  Brenau defeated Bethel Friday night, 3-1. 

Dalton State will then close out the regular season on the road. They visit Brewton-Parker in Mount Vernon, GA at 7:00 p.m. on, Friday, November 7th They then go to Brunswich on Saturday afternoon, November 8th, to play SSAC regular season leaders College of Coastal Georgia at 2.  

Dalton State has already qualitied for the SSAC tournament. It will begin on Thursday. November 13th in Montgomery, AL.
