Dalton State Drops Reinhardt, 95-71
Waleska, Ga. – Once again a large contingency from Dalton made a short drive to support the now 21-2 Dalton State Roadrunners and the birds didn't disappoint.
Reinhardt (11-10) jumped out to an early lead, 9-3, but Dalton followed with a 10-point run to take the lead for good. The Roadrunners led 47-31 at intermission.
The Eagles made a couple of short runs in the second half, but the Roadrunners were never really threatened, outscoring the hosts 48-40 after the break for the convincing 95-71 win.
Senior
Ricky Sears led Dalton State scorers with 21 points. Sears was four for four from three point range and five of six from the foul line.
Preston Earle and Demetrice Jacobs each pumped in 13 points.
LaDaris Green and
Erich Allen each scored 12. Green led the Roadrunners in rebounds with nine.
Sean Tate scored seven points, all from the foul line (7-8). He also had five assists while playing all but 55 seconds of the game.
Everyone who made the trip saw playing time. All but two scored.

Each team pulled down 38 rebounds. Dalton outshot the Eagles. The Roadrunners connected on 46.3% from the field including 45.8 (11-24) from beyond the arc. They also hit 81.5% from the foul line (22-27).
Reinhardt hit only 37.1% from the field and 20.8% (5-24) from three-point range. Going into the game, the Eagles were #5 in the nation in NAIA D-2 from beyond the arch, averaging 9.90 per game.
Reinhardt's Quinton Wood had a game high 27 points. He hit on 12-12 from the free throw line and contributed seven rebounds. Larricus Thomas scored 12 for the Eagles, Tanner Reno (from Varnell, GA) scored nine, and Luke Joseph scored seven.
Dalton State returns home Wednesday night to face high scoring Life University of Marietta (13-9). The Running Eagles are on a five game winning streak. They warmed up for the Roadrunners with a convincing 118-93 Saturday victory over Morris College in Sumter, SC.
