Brenau Downs DS Volleyball, 3-1
Brenau University Defeats Dalton State Volleyball
Gainesville, GA. – Dalton State volleyball played hard, but lost Thursday night to an experienced Brenau University squad, 3-1.
The hosts won the first two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-15 before the Lady Roadrunners came back to win game three 26-24. Brenau closed out the evening, 25-19.
Dalton coach Bruna Langner said her team gave it their all. She was particularly proud of Cassie Cochran. Langner called the junior from Northwest Whitfield her "go to girl" in the match.
Stats released Friday showed that Michala Askew had 21 assists and Clarrisa Weber added 16 assists. Alyne Bianchi and Savannah Nelson each had 13 kills.
Just Three More Matches
The Dalton State volleyball team dropped to 8 and 13 on the season, but the team has had a great first ever season. There are only two more contests remaining.
The Lady Roadrunners travel to Brunswick this weekend for a Saturday, 11:00 a.m., battle with College of Coastal Georgia.
The Lady Mariners are 21-9 on the season and are riding a nine game winning streak that includes a straight set, 3-0, win over the Lady Roadrunners on October 20.
The second match of a Saturday tri-match will be with Wesleyan College from Mercer.Â
Dalton then finishes the season in Chattanooga on Tuesday, November 5, at 7:00 p.m. Dalton State defeated Tennessee Temple in three sets back on October 8.
