Volleyball Downs Brewton-Parker, 3-0

Mount Vernon, Ga. - Our Dalton State volleyball team continues to roll. The Lady Roadrunners rode a two game winning streak into Brewton Park Tuesday night and made it three in a row.

The 3-0 Dalton State victory was a chance to play a lot of players. Coach Bruna Langner said everyone played well, but she was particularly proud of freshman Karly Newman.

"Karly has a shoulder injury," said Langner. "She played through the pain and played well." Newman finished the night with seven kills and nine digs.

Other Dalton State stats, released Wednesday by Brewton-Parker, had Anna Dykes with nine kills. Savannah Nelson had eight kills. Alyne Bianchi had six kills and 13 digs. Michaela Askew tallied 10 digs. Kailey Vaughn (4) and Michaela Askew (2) rounded out Dalton's kills.

The Lady Roadrunners (6-10) come home for the final three games this season in Dalton.

They host University of the Cumberlands at Dalton High Saturday afternoon at 2:00. College of Coastal Georgia visits Sunday morning at 11:00 at Mack Gaston Community Center. The final home is against Oakwood Univerity of Huntsville on Monday, October 21, at 7:00 p.m. at Mack Gaston.
