#6 Dalton State Finishes Third at Kinderlou Forest; McFadden’s 69 Sparks Individual Medalist Honor, Getley Closes Strong

VALDOSTA, Ga. – #6 Dalton State earned a third-place team finish at the Kinderlou Forest Spring Invite in Valdosta, closing behind #12 Coastal Georgia and #22 Point (Ga.). The Roadrunners battled through three rounds on a demanding layout, using a sterling second-round 69 from Ben McFadden and an even-keel final-round 72 from Joe Getley to anchor the week's scoring.

ROUND 1
TEAM RECAP
Dalton State opened the day in third after navigating a tough setup at Kinderlou. Ben McFadden led with a team-low round, while Joe Getley, Tyler Latimer, and Scott Frisby rounded out the scoring to keep the Birds in the hunt.

INDIVIDUAL
  • John Brady Knight opened with a 77, getting his week started with a composed card and setting up improvement on Round 2.
ROUND 2
TEAM RECAP
The Roadrunners made their charge with one of the better team rounds of the day. McFadden fired a 69 to headline the session and Getley added a 70, with Latimer and Frisby supplying the support that kept Dalton State firmly in podium position.

INDIVIDUAL
  • Knight trimmed two shots, signing for a 75 to continue a solid individual showing.
ROUND 3
TEAM RECAP
On the final day, Getley delivered the round of the day for DS with an even-par 72, and Frisby added a key counting number to lock down third. Coastal Georgia sealed the win with red figures, while Point held second.

INDIVIDUAL
Knight closed his week with a 78, completing 54 holes as Dalton State's individual entry.

#6 Dalton State heads to Opelika, Ala. and RTJ Grand National on March 11-12 for the LTU Spring Break Invitational hosted by Lawrence Tech.
