MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Dalton State put together a clinical road performance Thursday night, blanking Faulkner (Ala.) 4–0 behind two-goal outings from Lexi Lyon and Sophia Calkins, while goalkeeper Maggie Rickerd recorded a six-save clean sheet. The Roadrunners moved to 6–1–1 overall and 1–0–0 in league play, while Faulkner fell to 4–2–1 (0–1–0).
FIRST HALF
Dalton State seized control midway through the opening half with two goals in a span of 1:41. At 14:46, Lyon slotted home the opener from service by Amy Wearing and Marissa Gonzalez—Lyon's 11th of the season.
She doubled the advantage at 16:27, finishing again off a Wearing assist to make it 2–0 heading to the break, her 12th goal of the year. Dalton State outshot Faulkner 6–5 in the period, and Rickerd turned away three shots to preserve the lead.
SECOND HALF
Calkins put the game out of reach with a second-half brace. She struck first at 63:30 from an Aoife Saunders feed, then added her second at 68:49 on an assist from Ria Cox for the 4–0 final.
Rickerd closed the door with three more stops after halftime to complete the shutout, while Faulkner split goalkeeper duties—starter Taylor Waters in the first half and Mireia Ferrero Rosin after the interval.
