Lady Roadrunners Shine On Senior Night With 4–0 Victory Over Brewton-Parker


DALTON, Ga. — Dalton State Women's Soccer delivered a dominant performance on Senior Night, defeating Brewton-Parker 4–0 at Dalton Stadium. The win improves the Lady Roadrunners to 9–3–1 overall and 4–2 in conference play, while Brewton-Parker falls to 3–8–0 (1–5 SSAC).
 
FIRST HALF
Dalton State wasted no time asserting control, peppering Brewton-Parker's goal with early chances. In the 12th minute, Aoife Saunders opened the scoring with a well-placed shot assisted by Amy Wearing and Ria Cox. Just ten minutes later, Saunders struck again—this time unassisted—to give the Lady Roadrunners a 2–0 lead.
 
Dalton State outshot Brewton-Parker 10–1 in the first half, with goalkeeper Maggie Rickerd making a key save late in the period to preserve the shutout.
 
SECOND HALF
The Lady Birds continued their offensive onslaught after the break. In the 63rd minute, Tania Dominguez found the back of the net off a combination from Lexi Lyon and Wearing. Just two minutes later, Lyon added a goal of her own, assisted by Saunders and Marissa Gonzalez, capping off a four-goal performance.
 
Dalton State recorded 11 second-half shots and earned five corner kicks, keeping Brewton-Parker pinned in their own half. Rickerd faced no shots in the second half, completing the clean sheet.
 
STATISTICAL HIGHLIGHTS UP NEXT 
DS will be back at Dalton Stadium on Sunday, October 12 when they take on Thomas (Ga.). Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
