Lady Roadrunners Snag Big Home Win Over Mobile


DALTON, Ga. – Dalton State picked up a major conference win on Friday evening as Emma Johnson scored early in the second half and the defense held strong down the stretch for a 1-0 win over Mobile (Ala.) on women's soccer senior night at Dalton Stadium.

  • (1-0 DS) DS: Riley Bennett sent a long lead ball to Emma Johnson who outran a defender to goal and sent a screamer past the Mobile netminder for the tie-breaking score in the 52'.
THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (5-1-3 overall, 3-1-2 SSAC) with the victory, while Mobile (Ala.) drops to (6-4-1 overall, 4-2-0 SSAC) with the loss. Emma Johnson scored her team-leading 6th goal of the season, while Riley Bennett picked up her 3rd assist.
 
The DS backline played great defense limiting the Rams to four total shots and just two on goal. Brooke Alvarez came up big as the Rams shots on goal were on point to her.
 
UP NEXT
The Lady Roadrunners' next match will be the beginning of a tough stretch as #3 William Carey (Miss.) visits Dalton Stadium on Sunday, October 13. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
