DALTON, Ga. – Dalton State looked poised for a scoreless tie with Faulkner (Ala.) until the unthinkable happened in the 87^th minute as an attempted clearing of a ball deep in Faulkner territory led to an own goal and the deciding score as the Lady Roadrunners defeated the Eagles, 1-0, in a pivotal SSAC matchup at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium in Montgomery, Ala. on Wednesday evening.
 
 HOW IT HAPPENED
 FIRST HALF

SECOND HALF 

• (1-0 DS) DS: It wasn't until the 87' when Lesley Alanis was traveling downfield in a 5 v 1 situation where she beat three defenders before turning the ball over but when Faulkner attempted a clearing, the ball went off the side of her foot and past the goalkeeper for an own goal and the deciding score.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (6-3-1 overall, 3-2 SSAC) with the win, while Faulkner (Ala.) falls to (2-4-2 overall, 0-3-1 SSAC) with the loss. DS dominated the shot chart at 20-3 overall with an 11-2 edge on frame.
