Lady Roadrunners Make It Two-Straight With 3-0 Win Over Talladega


DALTON, Ga. – Dalton State made it two-straight wins going on the road to get a 3-0 victory against Talladega at TC Field in Talladega, Ala. on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 DS) DS: The first Lady Roadrunner goal came in the 5' when Ava Vandoren connected with Nicole Perez who put the ball in the back of the net.
SECOND HALF
  • (2-0 DS) DS: It wasn't until the 63' when Dalton State tacked on goal #2 when Kylie Pritchett hit a nice corner to the far corner of the 6-yard box to a waiting Leticia Coronel who headed it in.
  • (3-0 DS) DS: The 3rd goal was an instant replay of the 2nd as Pritchett hit a corner to Coronel who headed it in on a similar set piece in the 70'.
THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (4-5-4 overall, 2-3-2 SSAC) on the season with the win, while Talladega (Ala.) falls to (0-8-0 overall, 0-6-0 SSAC) with the loss. Leticia Coronel was the star of the day getting her 1st two collegiate goals. Nicole Perez also scored her 1st of the season. Kylie Pritchett netted two assists, both coming on Coronel's goals, while Ava Vandoren also notched an assist.
 
Brooke Alvarez got another clean sheet in net, her second-in-a-row. DS outshot TC 23-2 overall including 11-1 on frame.

UP NEXT
A tough matchup to end the regular season is on the horizon as Dalton State will travel to Cochran, Ga. on Thursday, October 27 to take on (RV) Middle Georgia State. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
