Lady Roadrunners Blank Former Conference Member Florida College


DALTON, Ga. – The Lady Roadrunners move to 1-game over .500 and pitched a shutout in the process with a 3-0 win over Florida College in non-conference soccer action at Lakeshore Park in Dalton on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF SECOND HALF
  • (2-0 DS) DS: Molly Duncan caught a ball just in the box in the 57' and extended the lead to two goals.
  • (3-0 DS) DS: Brianna Smotherman collected a ball that was being kick about in the six and put in home in the 65' for the final DS goal of the day.
THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (7-6 overall, 2-1 SSAC) with the win, while Florida College falls to (1-10 overall) with the loss. Kylie Pritchett, Molly Duncan, and Brianna Smotherman all scored for the Lady Roadrunners in the win. It was Smotherman's team leading 8th while Duncan got her 6th and Pritchett her 3rd.
 
Nicole Perez racked up assist number five of the season and leads the team in the category. Brooke Alvarez gets a clean sheet in the win with Mattie Dollar cleaning up business over the final 20 minutes of play.

UP NEXT
It's back to conference action and two important matches for DS as it pertains to conference tournament seeding. They travel to Mount Vernon to take on a tough Brewton-Parker (Ga.) squad on Thursday, October 21 before hosting Middle Georgia State at Lakeshore Park for Senior Day on Saturday, October 23.
