COCHRAN, Ga. - Dalton State suffered their fifth loss in a row, losing a 2-0 decision to Middle Georgia on Wednesday evening in Cochran, Ga.

THE FIRST HALF
The Lady Knights would jump out on the attack early. Two offside penalties would momentarily squash their attack, but they would get an opportunity in the 8' when Linn Rydell Montan sent a shot at Dalton State goalkeeper Rachel Hardin. Hardin would stone Montan to preserve the scoreless tie. The Lady Roadrunners would have an opportunity of their own in the 12', but Rosie Lindo's shot would sail high.

Middle Georgia would strike first in the 24' when Sam Silva found the back of the net to give the Lady Knights a 1-0 lead. The Lady Birds would try to tie it up before the half, but shots from Kaela Ebanks and Serena Delgado missed their mark as Middle Georgia took a 1-0 lead into the break.

THE SECOND HALF
MGA would take control of the match in the second half, out shooting Dalton State 11-4. Lady Roadrunner netminder Rachel Hardin would be up to the test, saving five of the six shots she faced on goal. It would remain a one goal game until the 74', when Alejandra Whan caught her own rebound of the post and put it past Hardin to stretch the Lady Knight lead to 2-0.

Dalton State would keep fighting, but were unable to get a shot on goal in the final minutes of play as Middle Georgia held on for a 2-0 win.

THE REST OF THE STORY
With the loss, Dalton State falls to (6-6-1 overall, 0-5 SSAC), while Middle Georgia improves to (6-7 overall, 2-3 SSAC) with the win. On the evening, the Lady Knights out shot the Lady Roadrunners 14-7, with a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal. Rachel Hardin was once again under attack, but came away with seven saves. She now has 79 saves on the season.

UP NEXT
Dalton State will close out the home season on Senior Night, Saturday, October 21, when they face off with Brewton-Parker. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
