The No. 2 ranked Dalton State men's tennis team knocked-off visiting Georgetown (Ky.) College, 9-0, Saturday at the Lakeshore Park Tennis Center.Â
The Roadrunners, playing without junior Adam Hornby who in Equador with the Barbados David Cup team, started out with a strong doubles showing and finished it off even stronger."The guys did a great job stepping up today and locking up a 9-0 win against a talented Georgetown squad," said DS Coach Zack Rogers. "The doubles lines had a new look today with Adam out this week, but we still managed to take all three lines. I was proud of how the guys played in singles today and we competed at a level that was worthy of a top five ranking. There were a lot of positives, but we have to continue to improve if we expect to be a player in the nationals. We've got to show more leadership and have a more tactical approach to our doubles play.
