Lady Roadrunners Eliminated By #5 Mobile

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Dalton State women's soccer team was eliminated from the SSAC Soccer Championships by #5-ranked Mobile 9-0 on Wednesday at Emory Folmar YMCA in Montgomery, AL.

Mobile improves to 15-2-2 and will play the winner of Martin Methodist and William Carey on Friday.

Dalton State played tough defense in the first half allowing a high-powered Ram attack to just three first half goals. The second half was mostly played in the Dalton State half of the field with the Rams scoring six goals. In the end the Roadrunners ran out of steam as Mobile flexed its muscle outshooting the Lady Birds 39-0, with 23 of those shots coming on goal.

1st team All-SSAC goalie Rachel Hardin played tough in goal with 14 saves, but was showered all afternoon with Mobile shots.

The Lady Roadrunners will end their first season 9-7-1 and finish 4th in the conference, after being picked to finish 8th in the pre-season.
